মুক্তিযুদ্ধে বিজয়ের স্মরণে এ দিবসটি শেখ হাসিনা মেডিকেল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, খুলনা তে বিভিন্ন আয়োজন-অনুষ্ঠানের মধ্যে দিয়ে উদ্যাপন করা হয়। এদিন ভোরে সূর্যোদয়ের সাথে সাথে জাতীয় পতাকা উত্তোলন করা হয়। সোমবার (১৬ ডিসেম্বর) সকাল ৮.৩০ মিনিটে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য মহোদয় বধ্যভূমির স্মৃতিস্তম্ভে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করেন।
